Introduction:  The object of today's class is to utilize the flexibility of recursive writing to change genres by making the informative essay a podcast.   Today’s lesson is looking at our research and figuring out how to put it in script form to publish it as a podcast.

Activity 1: Spend some time reading your essay aloud or having Speechify read it to you to “hear” your paper as it is. 

Activity 2: A podcast's goal is to inform and entertain. With your partner, highlight the parts of your essay that might be the most entertaining in a podcast. Be able to answer the question “Why”.   Is there anything that you can add to this podcast to make it more enjoyable?   Sound effects?  Interviews?   

Activity 3: Watch the “Podcast Scripts” video.  Use those highlighted parts to outline what you will talk about in your podcast and create a basic script. 

Activity 4: After Class, make an appointment with the Academic Resource Center and your partner to utilize the tutors to flesh out your script and have an extra set of eyes on it. 

Conclusion: Remember that we have gone through all the steps of recursive writing, and now we are heading into the publishing phase.   During the final stages of editing and revision, you are looking at the fine details and crafting the art of English.  By taking your research to the next level, you are coming full circle in the recursive writing process.
